ANTHROPOCENE

'Anthropocene' SS/2020, was a First-Year project that Basmah collaborated with other Womenswear students on her course at London College of Fashion, and students from the Textiles Undergraduate Degree in Print and Embroidery. As a team, they were deeply inspired by a Japanese Butoh Dancer ‘Kazuo Ôno’, and combined elements of inspiration from his dances with delivering a strong message on climate change and ocean pollution. They designed and produced a 10-outfit collection that was built up of recycled materials, up-cycling and deconstructing old garments.
